Update on the New Series “Secrets of Redemption”

Wow, 2017 has been flying by. I’ve been hard at work on a brand new psychological thriller/suspense/mystery series “Secrets of Redemption.”  The first book “It Began With a Lie” is complete and I’m in the middle of Book 2 “This Happened to Jessica.”

I even have a cover and a description of “It Began With a Lie!” Check it out:

That was what Becca hoped the move from New York to Redemption, Wisconsin would be for her troubled family. A way to get her crumbling marriage back on track, and to bond with her difficult 16-year-old stepdaughter.

But instead of a new beginning, Becca is thrust into the mysterious past she barely remembers, as she is now living in her aunt’s house (or what the locals call “The Witch House”).

But is the house really haunted? Or is there something far more sinister out to destroy them?

Are you excited yet? I know I am — I can’t wait to get the book out there.

Alas, in the world of publishing, nothing is as simple as that. My PR agency has recommended I wait until all 3 books are done before I publish the first one, so right now I’m on track to launch all 3 books next summer. (I’m shooting for beginning of June, 2018 for this book).

Keep an eye on this blog (or, better yet, join my email list) for more details as we get closer to launch day. Talk soon!

So, how’s the new book coming?

Glad you asked

Let me start by saying this was a great year to see how sometimes taking a step backwards results in a huge leap forward.

Earlier this year I was starting to despair this book was just getting too long. It was just getting longer and more complicated and I wondered if I would ever finish it.

And that’s when it hit me — this wasn’t a stand alone book but a 3-book series.

Everything fell into place at that point.

Of course, the problem was I had to go back and make some adjustments to what I already wrote (not to mention get a little more specific about Book 2 and 3). At the time when I was doing this, I started to despair that this was taking too long and I was going to blow all of my deadlines.

Finally, I just had to surrender. I told myself I would get it done the I got it done and to stop worrying about it.

It wasn’t long after I did that when I started to realize the book writing was going so well I had made up time and yes I should definitely be on track for an April or May launch next year (with the other 2 books in the series launching after that).

I’ll definitely keep you posted.

“Mirror Image” Launches Tomorrow! (Plus The Story Behind The Story)

Lots of excitement here in PW land as we’re getting ready for the big launch of “Mirror Image.”

You can grab your copy right here.

And, just like “The Stolen Twin,” this novel has quite a backstory too.

It all started when I was a teenager and on a family vacation in New Hampshire. While there, we took an afternoon cruise on one of the local lakes, and that’s were the idea first came to me.

I first thought it was a short story, revolving around Elizabeth taking a lake cruise during a family vacation. (You can read a version of this short story in the novel — it’s one of the “Elizabeth” chapters.)

After I wrote it, I wasn’t really happy with it. Something felt off. Like it wasn’t complete. So, I made it longer and turned it into a novella — still with Elizabeth as the main character. Continue reading “Mirror Image” Launches Tomorrow! (Plus The Story Behind The Story)

Covers, Publication Date Update and More

Big week as I finally saw some COVERS! for “Mirror Image!” Woot!

My designer did a fabulous job, as usual. I got 4 really great ones but I’ve narrowed it down to two:

I’ve asked my designer to add the broken mirror to the second one as well (and I suspect once I see it, that one will be the winner). Once I have a final, official cover I’ll post it here.

Plus, it looks like May 27 will be the official release date. I’m busy lining up all sort of promotional activities to help me launch this book with a bang.

March has been a bit of a crazy month (I’m also launching the third book in my Love-Based Business series in April) so I didn’t have a chance to do much writing on my current novel, but now that I’ve successfully completed my March projects, I’m now ready to recommit. I’ll keep you posted on how that project is coming along.

Until next time!

Novel #2 — “Mirror Image” — Set for Publication May 2016

While I don’t have an exact date yet (still working on the cover and final edits/layout), “Mirror Image” is scheduled to be launched in May.

I’ll be posting here as soon as I get it ready for prelaunch, in the meantime here’s a little taste of what it’s about:

Which would be worse, knowing that your dead sister has come back to life and is now a serial killer or that someone else is the killer….and that person is you?

Make sure you get on my mailing list for an exact roll out date (or you can email Info@MichelePW.com and we’ll add you).

Woot! Can’t wait!

The Story Behind “The Stolen Twin”

I actually wrote “The Stolen Twin” over 10 years ago. And then I stuffed in a desk drawer (well, to be completely honest, I actually stuffed it into a file on my computer, but that doesn’t have the same impact as stuffing it in a desk drawer) and left it there for over 10 years.

So, why did I do that? When I took the time to dig around and figure out the answer, I actually surprised myself.

If you too have an unfinished creative project lurking about, what I share may help you get that project finished and launched into the world as well. (And I sincerely hope it doesn’t take you as long as it did for me.) Enjoy!
