5 Bookish Gifts for the Mystery Lover in Your Life

Shopping for the readers in your life can be a challenge. On one hand, they’re perfectly happy with a good book and a quiet space to read it. On the other hand, would any kind of a bookish gift would make them as happy as a good book and a quiet space to read it?

Well, never fret, I have 5  ideas to help. In fact, a couple of them (number 3 and 4) would be perfect for any mystery lover, even the ones that aren’t huge readers.

Let’s get started.

Gift Idea #1: Signed paperbacks and hardbacks

There’s no question that books are always the perfect gift for a reader. But instead of just going to Amazon or Target and picking out the latest bestseller, why not make it even more special by choosing a signed paperback or hardback that includes swag? What could be more of a bookish gift than that?

On my direct store, I have both psychological thrillers and cozy mysteries to suit a variety of mystery lovers’ tastes. And all of paperbacks and hardbacks come signed and with book-specific swag. You can even get a book bundle and make it even more special.

Check out my two psychological series and two cozy mystery series right here.

Gift Idea #2: Exclusive paperbacks

Just like a signed paperback or hardback makes a wonderful gift, an exclusive paperback that’s only available directly from the author is  another wonderful gift idea. Sometimes these exclusive books are also higher quality then you can find at other retailers.

For instance, I have a new Christmas cozy mystery called A Mysterious Christmas Collection, that’s only available on my store. I had it printed locally with a higher quality paper (and of course it comes signed and with exclusive swag) to make it an even more special gift.

Gift Idea #3: Mystery Games

This is a fun bookish gift for all the mystery lovers in your life, regardless if they’re readers or not. I have a set of 5 mystery games that take place in Redemption, Wisconsin, (which is where many of my books take place) that are appropriate for the whole family. You can solve them in a group or individually, and they’re available in digital and paper version.

And, if you want to make it even more special for the sleuths in your life, make sure you add on the Redemption Detective Agency Accessory Pack, that includes a notebook, pen and magnifying glass.

See all the different mystery games here.

Gift Idea #4: A Sleuth Welcome Kit Book Box

Book boxes are always a welcome gift for readers, but here’s one that is specific for mystery lovers. It’s my Redemption Agency Welcome Kit, and includes everything needed if you’re ready to join the Redemption Detective Agency as a new detective (including your first case!)

There’s a mug (which can be personalized), a notebook, pen, magnifying glass, signed paperback book and a mystery game. It’s a great gift for sleuths of all ages, whether they’re 8 or 80.

Gift Idea #5: Mugs and more

RDA Open for Business

There’s nothing better than curling up with a good book and a mug of cocoa or tea. The only thing that makes it better is if the mug matches the book.

On my store, you can get a mug that matches a beloved Redemption location (The Tipsy Cow or Aunt May’s Diner) or a quote from one of the characters. There’s other Redemption-specific and non-specific swag as well, so see what you think.

In conclusion, it’s easier than you think to find a thoughtful and personal bookish gift for the mystery lover in your life, whether they read psychological thrillers or cozy mysteries. (And even if they just love mysteries but are not much of a reader.)
